Yeah, this one still comes back to me every now and then but too many of my friends draw girls with this same hair length and color. XD They're not even asian or female! O: I was basing this off of myself.
Ah ha ha ha XD But its still really cool ya know. That's okay, Vera will always be her unique own self. If you think about hairstyle and colour, then a lotta characters out there have that, but it's their personality and unique characteristics that set them apart..which in a way can be a bit of a problem as I suppose you have to think of a certain characteristic to make your character somewhat unique? Hmm, yeah I guess they aren't XD Yeah sometimes I do that. I myself have short messy hair and usually my favourite characters (drawn by me) will have short hair XD I definitely see whatcha mean. So will you be making a character sheet of Vera? :I
Aww thanks very much! Yeah, I really like this piece too.. I would have loved to put that sort of outfit into a story somehow but it doesn't really mesh with the kinds of ideas I had been brewing recently.
you're very welcome Aha ha, well you could always try making a story specially suited to characters wearing these sorta outfits.
But I can see what you mean, it gets pretty tough for me to come up with a plot and so I hardly get around to designing characters and stuff...even though I'd like to. I do come up with ideas, but its just that I can never decide on an ending or how the story will progress.
Yeah I thought about it.. scifi is really hard when you're new to the genre; it's weird XD
Plots are really hard to come up with, I agree! So much conceptualizing, revisioning and research! One thing that always helps me is to think of a theme for the plot. A theme's job is to enlighten the reader, whereas the plots DRIVE the theme with a sequence of events. If there isn't a theme, then the story is not really a story but.. a sequence of events. Haha. Another thing that helps me is that I draw characters and then base a story around them. I'm a visual person, so I have to see characters first before I know what they do. What are stories really about, anyway? Answer: it's about the character.
Mmmhm. Yeah, and even when I do come up with an idea, I just cant seem to come up with an ending and even when I do come up with one..somehow I cant seem to be facing it.. >.< Weird huh.
I like the way you think. I'll try that. Thanks! I guess it really is about the character...its the characters that makes the story what it is. Yeah me too, I actually start doodling and then get story ideas and stuff. And I should force myself to make proper and complete plots.
oh Well its like this. For a story to progress, there has to be some sort of resistance in the plot..or something has to happen, that sort of catalyses the ending. In my case, supposing I've come up with an idea, I just can't seem to be making that something happen. I don't know, but I think stuff like, huh no that can't happen to my character..or something like that and it gets pretty hard for me to finish off a story.
So you see that way, I keep getting even more lazy and never get around to writing a proper plot.
